Kibbeh b Laban (Kibbeh in Yogurt Sauce)

Kibbeh b Laban is a warming, tangy Middle Eastern dish featuring fried kibbeh balls served in a garliccilantro yogurt sauce. Using Aseel Pure Ghee for frying and flavoring brings a buttery smoothness to this traditional meal.

Ingredients

  •  12 frozen kibbeh balls or homemade
  •  2 cups plain yogurt (laban)
  •  1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup water
  •  1 egg (optional, for thickening)
  •  2 tbsp Aseel Pure Ghee
  •  2 cloves garlic, crushed
  •  2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  •  Salt to taste

How to Make

  1. Fry kibbeh balls in Aseel Ghee until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  2. In a pot, whisk laban with cornstarch and egg (if using). Heat gently while stirring constantly until thickened.
  3. In a small pan, melt Aseel Ghee and sauté garlic and cilantro for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Add the fried kibbeh into the yogurt sauce. Stir gently.
  5. Top with garliccilantro ghee and serve warm with rice or pita.
