As a homegrown UAE company founded in 1976, United Foods Company is proud of its deep roots and authentic heritage in Emirati society. As the nation has risen to occupy a leading position on the world stage, so too has it inspired us to recognize our shared responsibilities to sustainable development and the important role we play as leaders of industry.

Building on our sustainability pillar of Empowered Communities, and powered by our flagship brand, in 2018 UFC launched Step Up with Aseel (SUWA). The initiative aims to raise awareness about health and social issues within our community, provide for those in need, and campaign for the environment. With the motto “To inspire change we must lead by example,” SUWA has championed several worthy causes.

Step Up with Aseel to share with others

Every year we partner with Food ATM to provide iftar meals in Dubai labor camps, distributing more than 5,000 meals to date.

Step Up with Aseel to support autism

In partnership with Dubai Autism Centre, SUWA set out to raise awareness and help improve the lives of children with autism, raising donations for the center.

Step Up with Aseel to stand together

In 2020, we teamed up with NLP life coach Zeta Yarwood for a series of online sessions providing emotional and mental support to those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Step Up with Aseel to fight breast cancer

In collaboration with Pink Ribbon Crafters, Al Jalila Foundation of Dubai Health, and other organizations, we campaign annually during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to boost donations to support groups and raise awareness about the importance of early detection.

Step Up with Aseel to stop cyberbullying

Every year, SUWA partners with Beat the Cyberbully to safeguard young people against the potential harms of social media, hosting online safety workshops for kids, parents, and schools.

Step Up with Aseel to reduce plastic waste

Following a company-wide green initiative, we called on communities to join us in a movement to reduce plastic pollution and increase adoption of eco-friendly practices. In collaboration with contemporary artist Armita , SUWA launched a competition to create art pieces by recycling plastics.

Step Up with Aseel to believe in abilities

On World Environment Day, we joined hands with Enable foundation to promote their work empowering people of determination in the workplace.

These and many other projects have inspired both our workforce and local communities to work together for the betterment of our society and the protection of our environment, paving the way for exciting initiatives to come. Stay tuned to UFC to find out how you can Step Up with Aseel.
